As a follow up to my previous review PenFed contacted me not to attempt to assist in resolving this issue but rather to mansplain why it was the correct determination. I've rarely been so incensed by the utter lack of empathy or critical thinking by a company I've been doing business with for so many years. I would've expected this treatment from a bank but the point of being a member of a credit union is a more personable member centric experience. My mind certainly has not been changed. I will be paying off my credit card and transferring my business to Penn East.

Looked at my online banking today and noticed my checking account was cleaned out.Apparently for the last 5 days every purchase I made with my debit card was doubled!Yep , 500$ worth of purchases 1000$ taken out of account.Called Penfed and they told me IT is working on the known issue.Cleaned out my savings and got a account at NET.Switching all loans over from Penfed to NET and got a much better rate on all my loans.Member of TFCU for 25 years.Penfed is a joke!
Feedback:
If I could rate 0 I would. Was with Valor and they were great. They should've never changed. This place is awful. Phone is always busy and it takes forever for a bill to be paid. Account doesn't update until a day or two after!
Feedback:
My parents opened my account here when I was a child, and I've banked here for 20 or so years. I had a money market savings with a significant amount of money in it. I thought that getting a few pennys a month in interest was normal. Imagine my surprise when I moved out of the area and started using a regular local bank and started receiving close to $10 a month in interest with the same type of savings account. It's a little frustrating to think about how much more money in interest I could have accumulated in that 20 years, had I banked somewhere else. Judging from the recent reviews, I'm glad I got out before the merger.
Feedback:
Let's just say I miss Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union. All the loan officers were friendly and helpful. Then came the mergers. Just got told my checking account has a minimum. Funny that's exactly how PNC Bank lost their branch at the Army Depot.
Feedback:
Unbelievable, disgusting customer service. Customer service representative hung up on me! while inquiring about a credit card. Not the first issue I have had with this institution, last year they lost my automatic deposit the day of payday. Was so much better when they were Valor.
Feedback:
It is very infrequent that I have to stop at this bank, however I can feel my blood pressure rising as I am typing this. It is 8:31 am on a Wednesday, I have to make a deposit before I go into work today. Only problem is, you see I am sitting outside of a financial institution that I have been a member with through two mergers. At one point there was this amazing machine that had a 24 hour teller built into it... This was perfect for anyone who actually had to get up and go to a regular job. You see the bank opens at 9 am, so it’s quite an inconvenience to actually need to speak to any associate in person. Today, I am making a deposit. Or so, I thought. As I stated before it is very infrequent that I have to visit so I was unaware that the 24 hour teller is just an indoor atm to be used during business hours, and the DROP BOX IS NO LONGER A FIXTURE AT A BANK?!?!?! No worries, I will just go right to the atm to make my deposit, oh wait, that’s out of service too.. however, it would be too strenuous to actually open the drive through a bit early and allow for deposits, as I have been here for roughly a half hour and watched numerous employees and two tellers arrive. Long story short, when it comes to PenFed, protect your own best interests and find a new institution. I know I am!
Feedback:
Our loan with Valor for an ATV was taken over by Pen Fed. After paying off the loan we never received the title. Told it was mailed over 2 weeks ago nothing they can do and I will have to go to the DMV and get a new title. Looked at reviews on another site and someone just posted the same thing happened to them. Not sure how this can happen to 2 people in the same week Sounds fishy to me
Feedback:
I have never had any bad experiences with this institution. Their customer service is always efficient and friendly. My husband and I have been customers of Valor/Tobyhanna for well over 20 years. Would not think of banking anywhere else.
Feedback:
If the Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union was an actual person she/he would be outrage on the poor service that Valor credit Union is giving their members. From the poor services, to the employee rudeness, to the new stupid phone verification process. This is the worst credit union I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union was by far the best institution, and it is a shame that it has become Valor horror credit union. What a shame indeed!!!! Terrible banking, terrible customer service and terrible system. I will definitely consider banking elsewhere and I will definitely not recommend Valor as I would not put this nightmare of a credit union on my worst enemy.
