Feedback:

The customer service is usually pretty good for the most part, however the fees are ridiculous. Also dont ever accidentally recieve an NSF fee, they will hammer you with as many as they can and refuse to remove them regardless of who's fault it is. I would bank somewhere else if you have the option. I do not recommend this spot.

I have had a loan with UK FCU for one month. Went to pay my loan on the due date. Figured I could log into their website and pay with my checking account. Wrong. You can only do a bill pay from your bank to theirs. This in itself is absurd. So then I figured I could call and pay over the phone. You can don’t this however you can only pay with a card. There is a 3% fee of your total payment they add on top of your payment. Again that is absurd. I decided to do the bill pay however it is going to take 4 or 5 days for the check to arrive at their location. This will make it late by one day since they only give you a 5 day “grace period”. So far in just one short month this is the worst bank I have ever came across. If you are looking for an auto loan look elsewhere.

I drive all way from Nicholasville because this is one of the few credit unions in Lexington that takes deposits from my credit union, which is out of state. I get there and the ATM's are down. So the receptionist sends me to a branch all the way down Sir Barton Way on the east side of Lexington because the ATM will also supposed to take my deposit. So I go there, and it takes forever for the ATM to count my bills and tells me I am over the limit in the number of bills. I then have to wait forever for it to recount all my bills and returns them. So I try again with the max number of bills. It takes forever again to count them, and THEN tells me that it will not work with my credit union. I have to wait again forever for it to recount my bills and return them. I go online, and sure enough it is not listed as taking my deposit. Aargh! I pull out of the parking lot and see another credit union directly across the street (Commonwealth FCU) and what the heck, let me give it a try. it counts my bills very quickly and takes my deposit. Yeah. Needless to say I will be opening an account with Commonwealth FCU after I move here, especially after doing some research and reading that Forbes ranks it #1 in the state of Kentucky (Current 2018 ranking) and Kentucky Federal Credit Union is rated last. As a side note, I did not use Forbes to research and pick my other two credit unions that are out of state and I see they are listed #1 in their respective states as well, so that is a very good sign. Another advantage of Commonwealth FCU is that it has locations in several other cities, which is more convenient.

I’ve been banking with UK Federal Credit Union since I was 18yrs old and have NEVER had any issues with them. All the staff have treated me really nice! I wish I could give them a 10 for exceptional service and professional and friendly staff!!!

Very inflexible and rude. They only give you a 5 day grace period on signature loans. I didn't know this and they charged me several late fee because it took five days for my bank to get a check to them (it must be noted that every other bank I deal with only takes a day at most). Tried to reason with them but they refused to refund any of the fees. I went to the BBB and they finally relented and gave a refund. This isn't the first time I've had problems with the UKFCU and I don't feel value their members.

Terrible customer service. rolled over two jumbo certificates without proper notification or explanation. Called & talked with Manager (Stephanie) she was going to get "higher ups" to contact me. NO CONTACT.

This bank is a pure joke! If you want your money held for ransom because of a couple of days late payment this is the place for you. They are not very friendly or easy to work with either. We pulled both of our accounts because they would hold our money for ransom. We are not the only customers that this has happened to. They don't seem to want to work with their customers either and are not willing to listen to the customers needs. I would go anywhere else and avoid all loans and interactions with UK federal credit union. They also edit remarks on social media and other public forums to hide their bad business ethics and want everyone to think they are for the customer, but truth be told they are not a good business. We'll see if this even makes it to the public's eye.
