Five star service every time I don’t even know how they find people this good to work here, just great experience overall, I never had an issue unresolved, they do above and beyond to make you happy and important, I highly recommend STCU!!!

I have no problem with the people at the branch I normally deal with. All are very helpful and polite. My issue with STCU is their policies. I opened an auto loan a while back and set up auto pay for the added discount. No problem. We had to open a checking account also, no problem as this was not (and will never be) my primary bank. Then they wanted us to open an credit account. No problem until it was disclosed that we would need to CANCEL EVERY OTHER CREDIT CARD WE HAD. I told them never mind I wasn't going to do that. They called back an hour later and waived that requirement. A year or so later we decided to take out a home equity loan with STCU because they had the best interest rate at the time. I made it clear that I was NOT going to close any existing credit accounts. At the end of the process they insisted that we close all of our accounts even those with 0 balances. At this point in the process the time line we were dealing with put us over a barrel. This is not only BAD financial policy but border line negligent. I have since moved that loan to my primary bank (and reopened most of the credit accounts), once the auto loan is paid off we will be closing all of our accounts at STCU and will not look back.

Denise that I spoke with in the loan department was absolutely fabulous. She worked very hard and made me feel good about my purchase and my credit scores. She treated me no differently then if I had 400K in my bank, even though I'm a broke college student ;) Extremely satisfied with my bank, and I will continue to refer people every chance I get.

Regretting every minute that I made the decision to use this credit union. I only did because they had a lower interest rate and I have two car loans with them. They force you to open a checking account to get .5% extra off your loan and have auto pay set up. The service is super slow, website not user friendly and they automatically transfer money from your credit card to your checking if they decide too without your authorization. I will be paying off my loans and closing my accounts. Go to Numerica if you want better service, options, convince of banking and service.

I wish all the numbers weren't directed to the 1-800 number. Might as well not post the phone number in information. Very dissatisfied with telecommunication protocol and methods of communicationEdit 03/05/2019:After reading the response from the owner, I appreciate that I was able to get a hold of someone. However, in your response, you mention that if we call the main number we can request to talk to the branch. Although that is helpful knowledge, the problem remains that it still requires all calls to be directed through the call center first, thus a quick payment/account question cannot be answered until 2 successful phone transfers, at least according to your methodology, am I right? Furthermore, at that point, I might as well request the information from the call center, whenever that person would answer.I was eventually contacted by an STCU employee and now was able to establish a POC which will definitely help for future issues regarding that matter and for that I am very appreciative. For that reason I will raise my prior review to a 2 star since the difficulty in obtaining this information still remains.

Atm took my debit card after trying to deposit a check. The slot to insert the check seemed broken or tampered with. Dont try to deposit anything through the atm here, well, unless you dont mind giving up your debit card. Luckily i still have the check.

All in all, I really like STCU. I prefer a local Credit Union to a large national bank. The STCU employees are always friendly & helpful.One suggestion/complaint I have is: I can never get through on the customer service phone number. Yesterday I waited 22 minutes and hung up, today it's been 11 minutes and still no one has answered. Last week the same thing happened, I chose to have a representative call back and it took 5 hours before they did.

Asked for a personal loan. STCU said no. Numerica said yes. Tried for car financing. STCU said no. Numerica said yes. Tried two years later for a car loan. The financial person tried STCU first. Again, they said no. Numerica said yes. So kissed STCU goodbye and switched to Numerica. .Numerica gets my family inheritance deposited into their bank.
