Feedback:

Just ask Angel, I'm sure he'll tell you all about it. There are plenty of lenders out there. Don't do business with Balboa.

Feedback:

I would like to give negative 5 stars but obviously we cant. I bought a car from a franchise dealer who set me up with this incompetent bank. My car loan is due on the 23rd, however I start getting calls on the 9th and every other day asking for a payment? And when they do call politeness is not in the vocabulary but after you say fine take a payment the process starts all over again like it's the first conversation we have ever had. I've never dealt with them in person but we will now. Read the reviews they are accurate and bank with ANYONE else except Balboa Thrift and loan!!

Feedback:

I'm trying to get hold of customer service for over a year, unfortunately, they are never ever care about their customers. I'm going to refinance my car, actually working on this already. Worst company !

Feedback:

I have filed with BBB and no response from this company, the CFPB and no response, now It's been taken over by the FDIC and I intend to do more, they have NO idea who their messing with! FDIC has been in contact with me and lets just say their going to very sorry! I don't want to mention whats coming next as I don't want to let that information out just yet, but let's just say it's gonna be well worth it. I had financed a car from this company back in 2012 and in January of 2017 I had ran in to some health issues and had the car repo in March 2017, Creditor then charged off this account at a balance of $2,324.00 they then took me to court to collect that balance of $2,324.00 They (Balboa did not show up at the court hearing) I have a court document that states the case ordered dismissed on 12/11/17...Since that time this creditor has been reporting a balance on my credit report, when an account is charged off its supposed to reflect charge off $0 balance, not only does it not state this, but since then the amount has been reported by them as increasing which is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) I have documents that clearly show, different balances on my credit reports, and also a letter from them with their letterhead stating my balance is now $4,370.38 then on my credit report $4,964.00 then another for $4,272.00 then another for $4,993.00...this company reported this in May 2017 as a charge off, the balance then was $2,324.00..they are in many violation of the laws. They have also contacted me by phone and harassed me to try and pay $4900.00 as a settlement, when clearly the balance at time of charge off was $2,324.00 and also this was dismissed in court anyways. They use pressure tactics and break the laws of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to try and pressure you to pay something that should not be paid, you cannot charge off an account with a balance of $2,324.00 in 2017, then change it to whatever amount you feel like on a monthly basis. This account is a charge off and should reflect charge off $0 balance. I will be filing more complaints after this with other agencies as well.

Feedback:

- bank with very old systems , very inconsiderate with the costumer . I don’t really recommend any one try to get loan with this bank .

Feedback:

I been with this bank for the past four year, and I have nothing but a good experience.

Feedback:

WARNING! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! I understand some people have good experiences and some have bad. I'm not sure who in the company decides one way or another on any given day who to treat poorly but why take the chance? My husband and I absolutely despise making the phone calls to speak to them. We are always spoken down to and on more than one occasion been called liars which is extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. I wish so much we would have just gone with another financing company... no matter how desperate you get to be financed, please please please!!!, don't go with them. It just isn't worth the gamble and frustration they bring. At this point, I would almost rather give my car back and take the hit to my credit than to deal with them. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! HORRIBLE!

Feedback:

My wife and I went to Balboa Thrift and Loan in Chula Vista to open a CD. It turned into a huge process. After approximately one hour we decided that we did not want to do business with this bank. The people there were unlike any bank employees we have ever dealt with. We have opened multiple CD account with many different banks and we were always treated with politeness and in a courteous manner. These people had absolutely no consideration for us, the customer. Their entire attitude was condescending and inconsiderate of our time, but it was more than just the time. It was a series of small things, like asking us to adjust the blinds and not offering us coffee and expecting us to have our own pens to fill out their application. It seemed that they felt they were doing us a favor by opening an account. They were incompetent and unprofessional in several ways. Bottom line, do not do business with Balboa Thrift and Loan.

Feedback:

Front staff people are very nice. But the individual in charge of my account was very rude (Victor). I made my last payment with a check and that weekend I lost my wallet so I had to cancel my bank account. They would not accept the letter from my bank stating my account was closed due to loss/theft. They charged me a return check fee, late fee and reported me 30 days late and still have not updated my credit report saying my account is paid in full. I was really hoping that paying off my vehicle would boost my credit but they sure ruined it for me!

Feedback:

I have not been with this bank very long however, the people I have Had dealings with have been very nice. Those who are having a difficult time with them take a moment and remind yourself that its a 2 way street. You want respect give respect. And if they won't refinance your auto loan go to a different bank to refinance. If you have had your loan long enough it has improved your credit and other banks will work with you, I recommend a credit Union bank to refinance
