Client Review on Straub HeatingCooling

Not happy with my experience with Straub heating and cooling. There was a week wait, which I get because of the holiday and heat wave so I’m not knocking them for that but worth mentioning. The tech that came was one of the Straubs and seemed honest and professional. This is where things get twisted. My Trane ac unit is still under warranty and he came to the conclusion that the compressor was shot. Then he goes on to say that they can’t do the work because he isn’t certified to do it. So I paid $100 for him to come out and basically say he can’t do the job and to call someone else. Makes sense to the average homeowner right? Well after talking with several other local heating and cooling companies they all said that any legit company can do all the warranty repairs. I have a friend that owns a heating and cooling company on the west side of the state and gave him a call asking about the situation, he explained that Straubs more than likely didn’t want to do the job because they pay for the part out of pocket and have to wait to get paid by the manufacturer. I feel like I just took my car into an auto mechanic who charged me to look at my car then tells me he doesn’t work on that brand. If you can’t/don’t want to do the work on certain units please be honest and ask what brand unit customers have before charging them to say you can’t do the job.
