Client Review on Seven Seventeen Credit Union

I never leave reviews on anything but after the experience I’ve had with them I feel like the public should know and they should be called out. First off, I wouldn’t even leave 1 star if that was an option. The women at the Warren branch lack communication skills terribly. No one really seems to know what’s going on and they aren’t friendly nor accommodating. My first experience was back in May. I had issues with my car (my car loan was through them) and it needed to be towed pretty far away which of course cost me my car payment. As soon as the situation happened, I called and notified them and ask if I could have an extension and pay my car loan the following month or be able to use “pass a payment” which most financial institutions offer for this very reason. The woman I spoke to was rude, unhelpful, and made me feel worse about my situation. She claimed “we have to have 7 days in advance to stop payment.” I don’t know about you but I’m no psychic so I clearly didn’t realize I would need to fix my car and not be able to make my payment. After explaining that to her they finally gave in and said “we’ll see what we can do.” My next experience was atrocious. At the end of May I called for the payoff total as I was looking at another vehicle. The man was very nice, gave me my payoff total and I took it to the car dealer ship. On June the 2nd (a Saturday) my salesman (also a family friend) tried to make contact with them but they were closed so he called back for the payoff amount the next business day. By this point, the car was no longer in my possession and I received confirmation from the dealer ship that the payment had been made on the 5th to pay off that vehicle. June 8 rolls around and 7/17 still takes out $258 for the Car I didn’t even own anymore. I called to see if I could have that money refunded and they claimed they did not have the payoff yet. I spoke to upper management and they said the same thing. So I waited the 10 days they suggested and called back again. Same thing. In the mean time my salesman tried calling them on several occasions to see what the issue was but No one would return his calls. I called back the 15th, still received the same “we don’t have payoff” mind you, I had the payoff papers sitting in my hand from the dealership so I knew they had done their part. I was getting very frustrated as I needed that $258. Finally, a representative went into that particular dealership to promote sales or something of that nature. My sales guy pulled her aside and explained the situation. Apparently she was very apologetic, had no idea about the situation, and said I would receive a check in the mail STAT. Another week goes by and nothing. So I call again, they claimed they had just received payoff but would not reimburse me for the $40 that was charged when they overdrew my account. Fine, whatever. I was told they would send a check in the mail for the remaining balance and I was transferred to a woman named Mary. As soon as she came on the line she was already in defense mode and had a nasty tone which obviously made my frustrations worse. Instead of understanding my frustrations she was argumentative and rude. Which in turn, made me argumentative and rude. She said they don’t send checks through mail and I would have to come get it (even though I had two prior people tell me a check would be in the mail.) after fighting with her for longer than I care to admit I hung up because I was just done. Fast forward 8 days and I received a lovely letter in the mail from Mary herself trying to prove to me that I was wrong and they were right. But wouldn’t you know? Still no check for the remaining balance. I call today, this woman tells me they don’t send checks and that id have to go in...I live 40 minutes to the nearest one. I asked for my account number so I could go retrieve it myself and they wouldn’t give it to me over the phone. They said I would have to wait until I received a statement in the mail. I would never EVER recommend using this particular branch (I can’t speak for the other branches).
