I want to say thank you for the help we received! I want to apologise for the review I gave before we went in and they really helped us out!!! Thank you so much!!

I would give this place a negative star if I could. I was already irritated there was a transaction fee, since I also belong to a credit union. There isn't supposed to be if you belong to one. But the best part is their ATM canceled my transaction and took my card. The teller inside would not give it back and told me it was shredded. Which I found out was a lie from my bank while I was closing that card and getting a new one. I am visiting from out of state and this is extremely inconvenient.

Feedback:

I am surprised at all of the horrible reviews I see here! I opened my account maybe around 2011 when I was a student at Kent State, and I have stayed with them ever since. They are by far the best place to bank with. My interest rate for my car loan is lower than my student loan rate from the government. I get reimbursed ATM fees every month because of the type of account I have, among other benefits. They have always been friendly and helpful, and I have never had a problem with them. Even when my bank info was stolen and people charged my account, they were able to get the charges reversed for me fairly easily (I had to sign papers and wait a little bit, but it was relatively minor in comparison to what could have happened). Overall, I have ZERO complaints and highly recommend them!

Feedback:

Extended hours would be nice but service is very good

I was shopping around for the best home equity line of credit and came across this place. I liked the rate they were asking in comparison to other banks or credit unions. I thought about it for a few days and decided to finally apply for a membership. Went through all of the steps and opened a membership account with them for a basic savings account. Today, I received a letter in the mail that they ran my credit and closed my account. My nearly perfect score. I have accounts with two other credit unions and they have not once did a hard pull on my credit. When asked why they did that I was told "we do it so we can see what we can offer out members". I'm not bitter because they closed my account. I'm bitter because they ran my credit when NO WHERE in the application does it say, we are going to do a hard pull on your credit. I will be contacting the better business bureau

Feedback:

Not the best bank I've used it ok!

these guys are snakes. I had to pay early payoff fees when I PURCHASED a vehicle and now have to pay them again if i want to trade my truck in. Hidden fees everywhere.

UPDATE: going into the bank for the second time I was helped by Jessica and she was amazing and really made sure our account got in order. The next day I came in and we were helped by someone else (sorry forgot her name) but she too was able to assist us with our transition. It's not perfect (i.e. I have to do some extra things that I'm not used to)-- BUT I truly feel once we are over this hump banking will be much better. ORIGINAL: Opened an account, didn't realize how poor the service and hours were. First, my debit card was sent to me with a security code of OOO. Never seen anything like it. Then to learn there are 7 day holds on your checks if your self-employed for the first month. Adding my husband to the account requires him taking time off work because their hours aren't conducive to working folks. Sucks because we want to be fully at a credit union, this bank is just too disorganized and lacking modern conveniences. Especially sad when my biz partner has an established account and we can't get a hold lifted on the checks.

Feedback:

We were merged into Seven Seventeen automatically when Kent Credit Union decided to sell themselves to this larger credit union in 2016. To begin with, they misspelled our last name on our checks, credit card and debit card, so we couldn't use these for several weeks until we received the corrected versions. In June 2016, our debit card was hacked right before we went on vacation, which made our trip more stressful. In March 2017, our credit card was hacked, and despite the fraud department contacting me and verifying that I did not make the fraudulent charges, they still applied them to my credit card! I've also had the same issue with being signed up for the "bill pay" service that was mentioned by another reviewer - I didn't ask for it, but I was charged for it anyway. I just feel like they don't pay attention to details and don't care about their members like KCU did. To be fair, their mobile app is much better than KCU's was, and their website is also decent, but I'm getting tired of having a new crisis to deal with every two months. Really disappointed!
