Nick Reisig from Residential Home Mortgage Company (RHMC) contacted me while I was looking for a mortgage company. RHMC's big perks were that they offered me a good rate and let me lock in my rate sooner than any other mortgage company would. But it was really Nick that sold me on RHMC. As a first time home buyer, I didn't understand many aspects of the loan. Nick would graciously and kindly explain everything to me (sometimes multiple times, in multiple ways, and on multiple days). When speaking with people from other mortgage companies, I would hang up confused, stressed and unhappy. Every other person I spoke with from competing companies used scare tactics to tell me how I was being lied to and screwed over by everyone else. Their numbers would change with each conversation and I distrusted them all. Nick was very honest and clear with me at all times. He'd respond to my emails and phone calls immediately, even after hours and on weekends. He was extremely thorough and I was very confident in my choice to work with him and I appreciate all that he did for me.Unfortunately, Nick wasn't the only person involved in the loan process and as my loan moved to different departments of the company, I became increasingly frustrated and less confident in my decision. My closing date was pretty far out, so when I had all of my materials turned in there were still over two months to go until closing. I gave all of my files in one email with them clearly labeled and a description of what each form was to ensure everything would go smoothly and easily. For the next two months, I was constantly being asked for forms that were "missing", although they were all files that I'd already provided. Some of my forms I had to send 3-4 times, even on the days leading up to my closing! When I finally received my final numbers for my certified check, the number was incorrect. When I informed them of the mistake, they said they'd need three days to fix the error (which brought me to the day before closing) claiming they didn't know about a seller's assist. This information had been sent to them a month and a half prior. Once that was fixed, they somehow dropped the money I already had in escrow. Both my realtor and I had to call the manager multiple times to get this done. I almost missed my closing date due to their disorganization.Eventually, everything worked out after lots of stress, back-and-forth, and with both my realtor and me calling every hour. Nick is an incredible asset to the company and even after he should have been done with me, he continued to be my point person since he was the only person I trusted there. It's unfortunate that the rest of the company couldn't maintain the trust and ease that he had instilled in me.
