Absolutely useless. Cant use the online log in system apparently so need to use the app, but the app wont show a statement transaction.. rude guy on the phone hung up on me more than once and wouldn't give me any info on my account after I verified myself saying "you should know". Obviously I don't otherwise why would I ask? Also refused to send me a transaction statement and told me I can see the balance remaining on app.. along with max interest of 30%!! Will be getting a consolidation from another company to pay you guys off. Beyond a joke.

Do not touch this company. If you do, keep asking for a statement to check for unexplained charges and prepare to have to take them to court to get your money back. They record transactions on a different date than when it came out of your account then put a $35 fee on top. Most unhelpful staff, no one can explain why there are random fees but refuse to issue a refund or let you speak to any managers higher up.

They have been good to me over the years but lately have been dealing with the personal loan side as opposed to the visa side and I am rather unhappy with the way I am being spoken to by the collections team may not get another loan with GEM after this.

We were hassled for a whole week providing a tone of documents and they keep you in high hopes until the last minute and then give you the opposite news as when they take a weeks time out of you. Useless.

I was sent a letter with my customer number and bank account to make payments to. I set this up in 2013 and made payments without a hitch. I always pay more than required and in advance. Suddenly they started hounding me to say I haven't paid. Apparently I'm depositing the payments into the "wrong" bank account number, yet half the payments are credited to my account, the other half not.I have called and spoken to them.numerous times about this, and EVERY time get an imbecile who can't comprehend that if 75% of the payments are credited, AND my letter has those bank account details stipulated, that the issue is theirs, not mine. Still fighting them to remove the Late Payment Fees, as the payments were all made on time.Furthermore, although their contract states that if you pay more than required each month, the additional funds will be credited to the HP that expires first, they instead placed my whole payment onto a newer HP, paying that off, leaving the older unpaid and them charging me 28.9% interest.Took three phone calls, where each person told me it was "impossible" to switch the funds to where they should have been credited to in the first place, and me telling them i'd be complaining to the Ombudsman and Commerce Commission, for them to MIRACULOUSLY rectify the situation in 2 minutes!! And even then, they made out they were doing me a favour!!

My friend has been a gem Visa user for years and when I was considering switching credit cards he recommended me gem Visa. Ordered a new card from them online and the process was super simple. Had my card in the next few days and haven't had any issues since. The can be a bit strict with their repayments but as long as you're onto it and are at least attempting to make a payment, theres really no issue. The support staff who helped me activate my card were nice too. Would gladly recommend, but as with any credit card. Be sure to read the fine print

I paid back my personal loan and overpaid by $195 which they were supposed to pay over a week ago. One support staff member from their Indian call centre was rude and aggressive when I asked why there was a delay. Two other staff promised the refund was being done saying it takes 3 working days to appear in my account which my bank Westpac said is a lie. When it is Westpac to Westpac the funds arrive as cleared funds immediately. I wonder if they don’t have financial issues???? They paid the money after two weeks and could not explain why it took so long - the staff there are very confrontational so they must have been trained this way. I deal with them on a daily basis setting up Gem Visa applications in retail and I can assure you I WON'T BE DOING ANYMORE (EVER)I REFUSE TO DEAL WITH TOXIC RUDE PEOPLE AND WILL PUSH Q CARD IN FUTURE, I HAVE TOLD OUR 28 BRANCHES ABOUT WHAT A PACK OF #(*&^$%% THEY ARE.

Not sure how you're doing business. Several phone numbers on your webpage - including the first one shown right on the main page - don't work or are out of service. If you have such poor attention to detail I hate to think what your contracts are like.
