Client Review on DATCU Credit Union

Feedback:

Typically I do not write reviews. But, today I am. I was treated very poorly at the window by a trainer named Kayla. I presented a check to be deposited. I did not have money in my account and they could not find where I had previously deposited these checks. It was from the STATE OF TEXAS. I know the state is broke, but I am quite sure they are good for the money. So she insisted that if I could prove that I had previously deposited the checks then they would make an exception to release the funds. This was not much money 1900.00 or so. She insisted that I had NEVER deposited from this merchant before and that I would have to show proof. She loudly spoke about my private information. She initially said she would release 500.00 of the money. Then once I explained that she should look and be able to find it and this is ridiculous, she then said she would only release 300.00. I got very upset to say the least. Finally she released 900.00 but it was not enough and I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER had this problem with this bank before. It is disconcerting she was training someone and treating me so poorly. I had to get this out of my 401K in an emergency situation and she condescendingly spoke to me saying, "Let me get this right, you are taking money from your 401K." Everyone in the line beside me could hear her speaking to me so rudely. I would not have written that information on here but hey, all the members in line know it now, so why not? I had to go home (20 miles away) research the information, get my rental car, change clothes, and go back to the closest DATCU. I have been traveling for months back and forth from Dallas to Louisiana, my brother in law is having a kidney transplant. I need to be able to travel and leave ASAP. THis was explained, the proof was provided, and the Assistant manager at the Lewisville Branch refused to release the money and uphold what "Kayla" said. DATCU has historically been easy to deal with. I have had excellent experiences with Brady and Ms. Vickie at the Flower Mound branch. But this was the worst. My whole family banks here. But I am quite sure we will be changing after this ordeal. There was no respect and I felt as if my integrity was being questioned. Did I mention I investigate financial exploitation of elderly and disabled Texans? If one of my clients were to go to this bank and be treated half as bad as I was I would be even more disgusted. I could just imagine them sending a person over the age of 65 home to research their check deposits. This is their job. Had we handled it right then, I would have nothing to say. I think when I think about things like that it makes me even more angry.
