I only used this company for about 5-6 months before someone else came and heavily beat their rates. I called to cancel my services. I was told to just send in my terminal and it would be cancelled. I am a new business owner and a new mother. Clearly stretched to thin because I should have been more perceptive and followed up. I should have looked for an email confirmation and checked my bank statements more thoroughly. 7 months later I found monthly reoccurring charges both for the equipment I had sent back and for the merchant processing that I had canceled. I called and they immediately canceled my service and sent me an email, but said they can't refund me any fees from the past. They said they had no proof I sent back the terminal but were willing to quit charging me right away. Sounds like a scam to me to see if you catch those reoccurring charges and call them out on it. I am much more astute now...lesson learned.

Please keep in mind when you read a review it may be from a disgruntle employee or competition who is angry that they lost business to us. If the company is not able to put in a response I wouldn't put to much thought into the review. Check reviews that allows the business an opportunity to share a answer to the complaint. Google reviews are worthless because it doesn't allow this and is unfair to any business.

This company is just a scam. Called to cancel my service and they are still charging my account.

Had them for two year. I wanted to change to better rate. cancel the service by returning the terminal. I called and made sure they got the terminal and canceled the service. After 6 month i found out they never canceled the service and kept charging me for basic fee. i called them, they promised refund after a week. After 2 week no refund no call. i called them again, a representative can not do anything because supervisor is not there. Something fishy is going on here.

Roxanne showed me very clearly that I would be able to cut costs by renewing our lease with them for a new period. I was able to sign up in confidence, because the last lease went exactly like I was promised it would. I don't trust the best intentions of VISA or Mastercard farther than I can swipe a card, but I DO trust THIS company to do what they say they will.

My original review was 2 stars. However, after outreach from the company I am revising this review. The owner, Phil, did a great job of reaching out to save a customer, even though I don't make them much money in a month.One of their CSR agents did an outstanding job of explaining all the legal hoops everyone was facing to get me taken care of. Thank you, Tyler.Cost Plus really tried (and by and large succeeded) in turning a bad experience into, well, not a good experience, but at least tolerable. We've also figured out ways to keep this from happening again. (My transactions were flagged and delayed, but that shouldn't be a problem in the future)I am still concerned by my original experience, but every company has a few customer experiences that they need to improve on. We are all human, after all.My original review:I really don't like working with this company. Here's why: 1) I am under a 3 year contract. Apparently, that's an industry norm; however, THEY SHOULD DISCLOSE THAT INFORMATION before the sale is final. (RESOLVED) 2) I have no copies of documentation and they refuse to give me any. I wonder if I could use that in court? (RESOLVED) 3) I'd like to cancel, but it's costly (RESOLVED. I am keeping them around and testing the waters further. I am leaning towards using CPP for all transactions, though) 4)They take forever to deposit money, which causes all sorts of problems (As I write this, I charges clients on Monday, I still don't have money, it is Friday, yet they say they sent a deposit(via text) on Wednesday.) (RESOLVED) In the beginning, it was a week long wait, too, but I was promised that there would be shorter deposit times soon. I am used to depositing next day (or even same day) but the quickest I've been processed here is 3 days.True, they are less expensive than my other card processor, but the other is so much easier to deal with, is more feature rich and I've never had the hangups like I do here that I wonder if the savings is even worth it.Finally, their customer service department doesn't serve customers, just bothers us until we give in to whatever their decidedly boorish policies are.(RESOLVED, I have a specific point of contact now)

Being a business owner you never expect to run out of terminal paper on a Saturday evening but it happened to me. Last Saturday I ran out of terminal paper unexpectedly. I thought I would be out of paper until Monday. Low and behold within 2 hours, I had a case of paper delivered to my restaurant. I can't say enough about Cost Plus and it's management team. They always go above and beyond to make things happen.
