Do not use this company to store your items. The moving team was great but once your items are in their "private" storage facility you will not be able to access YOUR items This was vague in the contract so I asked the sales representative if I would be able to pull anything out of storage if I needed to. I was assured that I would be able to. I was under the impression that their storage facility had a store front and I would be able to call in advance and pick up. This is not the case. They will attempt to find your items and for a $300 + tax fee they will bring them to you. I was not informed of this until I read my cc statement with the capital city movers charge listed. I just called because I need a document that is in storage. It is october 2nd. I can go get it if I wait until October 12th or I can pay $300 to have the items the paper is in delivered. The manager will not speak to me and has told his sales rep to tell me he has to review all phone and email conversations before he will call me tomorrow. If you are only moving, they are good but if you need storage be sure you will not need anything.

We moved from Manhattan to Long Island on 8/20/2018 with Capital City Movers. Our experience was less than impressive to say the least. We reached out to Capital City after many women on a facebook mother's group recommended them highly. Our experience did NOT parallel their recommendations. Once woman, a professional organizer, who very clearly is a friend of the company, even personally reached out to shout their accolades. She was wrong.During the move MANY of our furniture items were damaged, scraped and mishandled. The movers did not take adequate care of our items during the move. Scraped and scratched items included: baby crib, baby's dresser, baby's bookshelf, office bookshelf, entryway console. Additionally our $1000 china cabinet leg was bent and rendered useless and unsafe upon arrival to our new home. The movers also scratched the floors in our brand new construction home. They also scraped the floors in the condo we moved out of in Manhattan (which we have renters moving into this week). Several times upon arriving on Long Island I had to direct the movers to be careful with boxes that said fragile which they precariously were placing on steps (one which I caught that almost fell over). They also misplaced a kitchen mat in transport. The movers also got black sharpie marker on one of our white leather dining chairs. We paid for our kitchen to be packed and unpacked. The movers refused to unpack our kitchen when we arrived on Long Island as they stated "we don't do that". The day after the move, Tinna from Capital City reached out to ask about our experience. We communicated all the issues listed above. To date the following remedies have occurred: a mover delivered our kitchen mat when it was found and attempted to clean off the sharpie from our chair with nail polish remover which 1, did not work and 2, ruined the finish of the chair. Capital City has offered $150 for all of the damages. That is laughable given thousands of dollars of damage was incurred during the move. We are still awaiting remedy for many of the damaged items, most notably the precariously standing glass china case being removed and reimbursed given we have a toddler and infant in our home and it is beyond unsafe. Overall this was the worst move experience we have ever had and we have moved 3 times together as a couple. We highly recommend against using Capital City Movers.

Capital City movers did an excellent job with our office move! It was a complicated move with several stops and they managed it all very well, including when there were some unexpected hiccups - they managed to roll with the punches and still finish the job on time. These guys work fast! And, they protected all of our furniture very well. I picked them after getting multiple quotes from different companies, they were also the least expensive. All in all, would recommend!

ugh... annoyed. I thought my move back on May 18th would be easy since there are such high reviews. but they were really late, at least two hours, getting to my apartment. Instead of calling me to let me know why they are late, I had to call and find out. Fortunately, they gave me a $50 reimbursement for being so late. However, the moving crew broke my full length mirror. At least they gave me some money to compensate for that. In addition, my toaster oven, which I packed myself in a box, got dented. I called to see if I could get any reimbursement. After calling and finding out it takes about a week to determine if a person gets reimbursement or not, I followed up. I was told by Milan I would get $25 that day. but I have not gotten the credit yet. I called and left a message with a representative today. I have used other moving companies in the past and they went smoothly. This company needs to follow through better with their customers and be on time.

The Movers where very punctual and professional for the time they arrived, during the initial move and until the time they left.They called before arrival and promptly arrived at 9:30 am; they had a group of 6 men ready and raring to go.I immediately told them what we wanted moved, what rooms they can put things in and what we wanted done with certain desks/chairs/cabinets; which then they immediately got to work.They accommodated us with all our needs and demands and did everything in a professional and timely matter.I would definitely recommend Capital City Movers to anyone who is looking for professional movers in NYC they are amazing group of guys and they do amazing work!
