Shout out to Malik, this guys customer service was on point. Greeted me and my daughter from the moment we walked in the door, was extremely attentive an thorough with all of my requests and genuinely made my morning with his upbeat attitude. Even gave my daughter a loli pop. Give this guy a raise, he is excellent at his job.

I have tried to access the phone system to look for the location of an ATM and the system has made me go through 10 minutes of options and then hung up on me every time. The automated system is terrible!!

This branch DISCRIMINATES AGAINST ASIANS!Here's a letter I wrote to the branch:Today, I experienced an interesting interaction with one of your staff members, possbily the branch manager. I was going to the boba shop next door to meet a friend to discuss business matters. The business next to the branch is a boba shop which has a few tables outside. One of the tables was taken by a couple so we politely asked the couple if we can use the table, and they kindly agreed. We move the table over a bit so that we're not being rude with our conversation being so close to the couple and we also did not want to block the doorway of the boba shop so their clients can still walk in and out. We were also quite a distance away from the branch door as well. I noticed that within our first 10 minutes of sitting down, I can see two white employees from inside the branch, standing in front of the window where we were sitting, and they were staring directly at us for at least five minutes talking about something.Next thing I notice, is a customer who tries to go inside the bank and they were confused because the door was locked. I noticed another customer who was trying to get out of the bank from the inside but couldnt cause the door was locked and was confused until an employee escorted them out. The last customer just left and was also escorted out by an employee. Then I notice 3 white women employees leaving together who probably just got off work togeher and was walking together to their cars. The last person to leave might have been the branch manager because it seemed as if she was the last one there. She then asked us, "Did we moved the table over?" I responded by saying, "Yes, we did move it over cause we were really close to the other people at the other table." Then she responded by saying, "Oh okay I'll let everyone else know because you guys are scaring people by sitting there, and we are a bank so it is scary for people to have money on them and to walk in and out of the branch with you guys sitting there." Then she proceeded to walk back into the branch. I am APAULLED by such ignorant behavior from your staff. EVERYONE WALKS AROUND WITH MONEY! They had been racially profiling us since we sat down and all we were doing was having a productive conversation over boba. I'm not sure how us sitting there having a conversation was "scaring away" your customers but that was completely inappropriate. I do not appreciate that comment coming from your staff and I hope that is NOT how you treat your customers, but based on your reviews online, it could be true. I am asian and was with my brother and collegue and everyone in your branch was caucasian so I'm not sure if we only scared them because we were Asian. Or it could have been that my collegue has Alopecia Areata which prevents you from growing hair and people who are ignorant and don't know about it just judge it. Either way, juding my friend because he has a disease or profiling us because we are Asian is just WRONG!I hope this reaches the proper people to recitify the situation because I would hate to think that Califonria Coast Credit Union racially profiles people and discriminates against people with diseases.

Malik, who was my representative, was very polite, but misinformed. I went into the branch to setup an automatic payment for a personal loan I took out in order to avoid a teller transaction fee from my main bank. Malik failed to inform me that when he added my routing and account numbers that it would automatically charge me for the monthly payment that was due at the time. Since I wasn't informed about this, I also made a payment with my main bank's debit card, which, in return, wound up turning into a second charge (one from my routing and one from my debit). Due to this bad experience, I went to the Poway Cal Coast as that was the branch I took out the loan with and, therefore, I had a better rapport with. A representative named Stefania told me that they recognized the double charge and that it was going to be refunded to my debit card (to where I can call my main bank to pardon the transaction fee). I waited 5 days and didn't see the refund on my account. I visited the Poway branch again on 2/1 to discuss this and Stefania told me that it got refunded on 1/27. I told them it wasn't showing on my main bank's mobile app. What Stefania failed to mention is that it was refunded to my recently opened Cal Coast checking account and that they couldn't refund it to my debit card, albeit they told me it would. I asked them what could be done to resolve this as now I can't drop the transaction fee from my main bank that was charged to me for their screw up, and they pretty much told me, "sorry, nothing can be done." I'm very disappointed with California Coast as I was referred by an associate only to have a HORRIBLE experience and dealt with misinformed employees that don't even know their own policies. It's very unfortunate because the only reason I opened a checking account was in hopes of transitioning to them as my primary bank. I will be closing the checking account due to this poor experience. It's one thing if it was a single mistake, but being misinformed several times has left a bad taste towards this credit union.
