Client Review on Americollect

There seems to be a recurring theme in regards to these reviews, including mine. No one was aware they had a medical bill that went to collections. I received a call from americollect claiming I owed a medical bill from 2013. I have no memory of this bill going to collections. Thats funny because most businesses will harass you first via phone and mail and then send you to collections. You dont magically show up in collections 5 years later. It sounded legit because I did see a doctor for that date of service. But i wasnt born yesterday. I asked for proof of debt (by law they have to provide it). I never received it. I called the dr's office. No balance was ever sent to them for collections. They probably have access to old medical bills and are playing people because we dont remember if we paid a bill from years prior. Whatever u do, dont acknowledge the debt as yours. If u start to pay it, it WILL show up in your credit report.
