Had an auto loan I paid on time every month till I laid off at work had 4 late payments but then go back on track. And paid the car off 11 months early. They reported me to the credit bureau for late payments. I understand why but if I was late 4 times and paid off 11 month early does that mean those 4 late payment should sit on my credit for 7 years. And when I asked them to remove it they refused. Keep in mind I had never been late on any payments until I got laid off. And they told me that there was nothing they could do I would have to reach out to the credit bureau to get it removed. Well I did that prior to asking them and they explained to me that the only person that can remove a mark on your credit rating is the debtor. So I told the bank this and that's when their story turned into more lies. We don't have the power to remove anything. And then it turned into an argument where they were took the position of you were late that's your fault which it was. But the punishment doesn't fit the crime in this case. The bottom line is the they should be working with their customers not working against them. I paid them off early the hit on my credit sat there for 4 months. They should have removed it for after having it on my credit for 4 months. That's time served.
