I've been banking with WF since 2006 when they were First Mutual Bank. I recommend WF to my clients that I set up, review, and train one-on-one in QuickBooks and Quicken. Why? Because unlike US Bank, they allow free downloads into both of those software packages. I also get a free checking account as long as I keep $500 in the account. Parking in the lot can be tight. I wish they would make bigger spaces to park.

As a small business owner, I have come to rely on Washington Federal for operating my business as well as my own personal checking accounts. The service is excellent, I am greeted by name by the teller and the branch manager who smile and wave. After ridiculous policies found at Bank of America and Washington Mutual, I have been exceedingly happy with the emphasis placed on helping the small business owner.As a side note, the review by Ryan S. is as surprising as it is atypical. Clearly the story is exaggerated, and I have experienced no such 'mandatory fees'.
