Verifi started taking my monthly payments without ensuring I was set up properly for their service. It took me calling 2 months later to find out I was not set up to receive the alerts I was paying for. I do not recommend this company.

I am pleased to rate this company, which failed to do any investigation for purposes of verifying a fraudulent charge taken by McAfee, for numerous years, against my family's bank credit card. In 2006, we purchased a Dell computer that had a free McAfee 90-day subscription loaded already on it. Numerous notices from McAfee later, resulted in a one year subscription after which a "thank you for your purchase" was received. Subsequently, and numerous special offers from McAfee later urging renewal at special pricing, McAfee, without authorization, charged for another year. This happened numerous times and has now been challenged. The local bank that issued the credit card, used Verifi Inc to investigate. Verifi Inc failed utterly to do anything other than ask McAfee. McAfee provided totally insufficient support for its continuous charges, including exemplars with OTHER names than ours. Verifi did not ask us for copies of the ACTUAL communications, none of which said "thank you for your purchase" again, but only "we have successfully charged the account on file", meaning, they went ahead and charged without authorization as the only authorization they had had was for a ONE year subscription. No evidence of authorization for anything further, whatsoever. And consider the logic, IF it had been authorized, they would NOT have sent continuous solicitations to make purchases before the subscription rant out. Nevertheless, according to Verifi, Inc. there was compelling evidence that the years of charges were appropriate because an auto-renewal was not cancelled. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF AN AUTO-RENEWAL SUBSCRIPTION PROVIDED IN THE REPORT FROM VERIFI INC., which I probably only received because I live outside the U.S. and European law has better protection in some respects for consumers than in U.S. law. As a result, it is my strong conclusion that Verifi Inc is part of the problem, and not a solution. If you are a business seeking to find a business partner that will do more than just seek a minimal response from a vendor and then accept it as compelling evidence even though that evidence does not support the charge - AND YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY (because you can do this with your own staff at less cost to your company) then this is your firm. If you want a credible business that will actually perform an investigation that has meaning, I suggest looking for another business. If you are an entrepreneur, perhaps you can be the one to start a competitive alternative to Verifi Inc.
