Feedback:

I’ve banked here for many years and have had multiple loans through them. Staff are nice and always willing to help. My only suggestion of improvement would be the technology is behind other banks since it’s a community bank. It took a while for SunState to allow their cards on Apple Pay when this has been out for years. In addition, their app is a little dated and does not allow for mobile check deposit as it once did. Other than that, no complaints.

By far the worst customer service I've ever received when it came to dealing with a customer's dispute. Nobody does their job properly and they transfer you to several people and nobody knows what's going on or can direct you to a manager because they are unavailable. They tell you they will have managers call you back who never return your phone call.

I recently started working for the post office and needed to find a bank to open an account with. I tried contacting them through chat and got a "Kathyann" who told me "Membership in Sunstate is available to all people who live, work, worship, or attend school in Alachua, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Levy counties."This was apparently false as I work in Alachua county but my address is listed outside of Alachua county and apparently that isn't good enough to open an account. Beyond that, their "zero maintenance fees and zero minimum balance" checking account requires that you have a 5 dollar minimum balance and you have a 5 dollar "membership fee". This is bait and switch at the finest and when I pointed that out to "Kathyann" she promptly denied that there is any sort of claim of no maintenance fees or minimum balances on their website and then closed the chat.I'm glad that their customer service worked well enough for them to, at least, reassure me that SunState Federal Credit Union is NOT the place to invest my money. If they're this willing to jerk around a potential new customer, I shudder to think what sort of underhanded tactics they might use to squeeze money from people already banking with them. I encourage you to avoid this place at all costs.
