I've Been With Them For Years. They Have Always Had A Very Helpful, Friendly Staff, And I Wouldn't Trade Them In For The World.

Since merging wirh Spartan Federal their customer service does not exist! It's Sept. 30, I've been waiting since Aug.10 to receive my deposit from VRBO but SCFCU keeps denying it because they are using my old account number!! I'm sick of dealing with them, begging them and now I'm reporting it to the SC Attorney Generals office, I'll get my money one way or the other and I'm canceling my account, I've had enough!

If I could give them a negative rating I would. Opened an account there over a month and a half ago. Couldn't get a debit card because they were merging with SC FCU. They've merged and now I can't get a debit card because I dont have a direct deposit going to the bank. I've never heard this "rule" in all of banking before. So I'm supposed to give you my hard earned money and not be able to have access to it unless I have a DD going there??? Yea right. They could've told me this a month ago instead I'm waiting around for nothing!! I have no problem putting money in my account but it makes ZERO sense to do that and have to come to a branch just to do ANY kind of banking with them! I'm closing my account and taking my business to a more organized and customer friendly company. Don't waste your time with them. They will be having many more bad reviews in the near future I'm sure. THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU'RE A CRIMINAL IF YOU DONT HAVE A PENDING DIRECT DEPOSIT. Basically you're not worthy of being a customer if you're trying to set up your new account with them and that hasn't happened yet. Will even tell you putting money in your own account won't get you a debit card. The new name is South Carolina Federal Credit Union.

The new bank merger has ruined the bank. I am Jordan Scruggs. The new staff is young and incompetent and will mess your accounts up. I've been going there since I was 12 and they had the nerve to tell me I couldn't talk to the general manager that's been there since I have without an appointment whilst not having to before the merger, along with an attitude. The next attitude I get out of these people, I will close my account and help other people leave the bank. Or worse. I hate the place now.

This credit union is good for the most part. You might want to skip taking their free insurance coverage of $1000 from Trustage. Or you will likely be getting letters in the mail asking you to authorize an increase in coverage so they can charge you a monthly fee. I have also gotten car insurance letter ads from them.
