If the goal of these new owners, is to make the old customers miss the old owners, they are accomplishing that amazingly! They do not know the definition of customer service. Literally everyone I spoke to is rude.

Dave and his staff go above and beyond on their customer service. I’ve alwaus found the staff to be highly knowledgeable and always friendly and accommodating. If you want a great selection, excellent service and honest answers, this is your place. I’ll be back soon.

There's a reason all the 5 star reviews are on the old owners and all the horrible 1 star reviews are on the new and current owner!!! Our first time in this place since they relocated it to this off the beaten path, cheap, small, dirty place... I use to frequent this place often when they were at the much nicer Grand Ave places. We walked in on 7/2019 around 3pm and quickly noticed that something was different now. Way different and not in a good way. It wasn't the norm that I always associated with this business name. Inside I saw workers walking around aimlessly in the backroom. They were laughing loudly, stuffing food in their mouths and going in and out of the refrigerator that's in plain sight.. There were 3 males, I guess you could call them "workers" standing behind the display counters.. After being in there for 15 minutes, not one of them ever approached us to see if we needed assistance. They just stood lazily behind the display counters looking into each other's eyes....Yeah, they really seemed to be in their own little world. No one else in the store seemed to matter to them.... Anyways.. I also noticed that there wasn't any familiar and friendly faces in there anymore.. Like Dave, his mom, Eric or the other associates I saw for many many years. Eventually without ever being approached for assistance we left. While walking, I was thinking to myself- something has changed here. Something besides the junky items now on display with high prices and the horrible customer service i received. After looking on the internet at other 1 star reviews I learned that Daves mom had passed and that the business recently changed owners. Well! This explained what was different. The new owners, they really should have taken notes from Dave on how he and his mom ran the business and made it personable with the customers so we always returned.. Absolutely no customer service here anymore. Zero.. I remembered good quality items for sale here before...Now, the items for sale seem junky. The tools on display for customers to purchase? Basically it's just a small rickety 3x3 table of over priced junk. Seriously, go inside and look for yourself! Those shelves Dave once lined with quality tools for us to purchase? Those days are gone with the previous owner..Want to buy jewelery here? Not anymore! All their pieces are marked WAY WAY up then posted, 40% off! Come on! You marked it up 200%!!! Dave and his mom ran a respectful and great pawn shop for many many years and it really shows when you compare it to what it is now. It's a shame.. Basically everything I saw on display for sale was junk and if it wasn't junk it was way over priced. For many years I was a customer and bought many good items from here. Not anymore. Now, when you walk in you can feel this place is just plain junky. Seriously, as soon as you step on their cheap junky Pergo floor you get that feeling. (The floor feels AND sounds like it's temporarily laid. As if they know they're going to eventually go out of business and when they do they can pull up the floor and reinstall it in their house!!). Seriously go in there. Listen to and feel the cheap bounce of the floor when you walk on it....It's a temporary floor!! Everything in this place has a cheap feel now! The only expensive things are the prices!!! It's the end of an era for this once great neighborhood pawn shop! Its really disrespectful and disappointing what the new owners have done with this place and the lows they took it to! Out of respect to the previous owners, the neighborhood and the SSF community, the new owners should change the name to South S***ty Pawn because that's what they turned it into!!! The only decent thing left of this business is the original name that still hangs outside! The once good customer service and good business practice is gone and I honestly won't be surprised when this business is gone too...To the new owner: YOU should be ashamed of yourself for what you did to a business that's been respected since 1969. Yeah, 50 years.

Their finally releasing letting me pay for my gun. When I said they were rude they Steven ( manager) threatened to charge me extra for “ insulting his employees “ . Please stay away from here . Oh and get this, Phillip said “ if your going to write a review I suggest you wait , remember we still have your firearm for 10 more days” .. what does that mean ? ? He called it a suggestion.

This place rocks! Not I got a good deal with Freddy after purchasing a camera lens. But for me experiencing an excellent customer service while I’m dealing with him really matters. Planning to make a trip this week to buy another stuff there.
