I heard about SCORE through a friend, and it has turned out to be an invaluable resource. I needed help setting up my bookkeeping, and had tried to do it with a bookkeeper, but didn’t get anywhere, not to mention the expense. I attended a great workshop called Simplifying QuickBooks, then met with a mentor who got it all set up for me, for free! I am now working with a mentor to help tackle the hurdles I face in getting set up. I am very grateful for SCORE and it’s terrific mentors.

I brought my business to SCORE for consulting in 2012 since I was expanding the business and running into some issues. My SCORE mentors were instrumental in our growth. I grew from a 3 person company to a 30 people in 5 years and we have plans in place to help us to grow sustainably. I felt so overwhelmed, stressed out, and alone before I used SCORE. I highly suggest them.

The mentors at SCORE have many years of business experience that they share at no charge with people who want to start a business or need help with an existing business.

First, I should mention that I do not have much background in business. My SCORE mentor is friendly and provides useful information and advice, although his background is not exactly in the area I am interested in. My business mattered to him as he sent me a follow up email when he did not hear from me for awhile. The scheduling staff is also very courteous and responds in a very timely manner. I highly recommend this free service.
