Loved the view and loved the original stairs. It was pretty easy to be alone in the top glass section for some nice photos without people you don’t know in them. I am way out of shape and have two permanent pins in my right ankle. The stairs were a challenge, but not a difficult one. The hardest part was backing down the top flight since they are so very narrow to get into the glass.

The place offers a nice variety of delicious food. I like dining here. Staff members are always friendly, rates are affordable and the spot is always neat.

We stayed in one of the rooms at the lighthouse. Nicely remodeled and very clean and we'll appointed. Was it a "romantic room" not like we anticipated however, it was obvious they aren't done. Was sad to see the fireplace in the discription has been covered up. Beware of the winds! It howled so loud (understandably) but rattled the metal range hood terribly and not in a rhythmic way. Not much sleep that night. Still, it was a fun experience.

Sheila gave a wonderful presentation and tour of the light house. Great displays and gifts in the museum and store on the history of Point Arena. Would recommend this State park to everyone. Nice point of interest stop. Seeing humpback whales from the top of the lighthouse was a pleasant surprise. I guess rare also.
