After successfully opening an account with forte they had informed that they have to shut it down because they do not service my business type industry because it is "high-risk" I am the owner of an IT company and have ran payment with them before. Ever since forte has started working with "dex" it has been a complete nightmare, nobody knows what's going on at forte and their customer service is absolutely clueless. Helcim payment solutions is a much better solution for online payments for technology companies.

Attempted to use their check out tool, the followed the dev docs to the letter - got a sandbox account for their DEX tool, did the javascript thing and got a great process working for the client. Even got the client trained on DEX on how to handle various transactions. Signed up after we got our test site working. Attempted to gain access to DEX for our production release, was denied, which was needed to get the API keys for our solution to work. Was told, incorrectly, by support that we could get them from the 'virtual terminal' tool. Those API keys didn't even look the same (10 character key vs a 32 character key) and would hardly work. Had to go back to square one after spending nearly 40 hours on a solution. Thanks guys! I wish I could bill you for the time / money (and client) I lost because of you. Also...there's a PCI compliance shake down fee associated with their service. Mind you can get around it if you determine which SAQ to fill out - but they won't tell you which one. Until you pay them for 'compliance' they'll charge you an extra $30. Smells fishy? Because it is...no matter what tool you use (Virtual Terminal or DEX) you never have direct access to payment information unless you have the card in your hand... My advice? Keep looking there's better partners to work with.

WARNING.... do not use this system, I had a very BAD experiences IN A ROW when paying property tax for LAKE COOK COUNTRY TREASURE. After paid full amount of property, the support called me only a couple dollars paid for tax in that transaction, actually I paid full amount in the option menu, then with the guide from the support, I tried to online with her to do transaction again, and the transaction still can not go through. The system is buggy. Not sure how it passed "PCI" certification, scary to use it, so I decide to use old traditional payment method this year. I had no problem for the treasure online payment before, it might be through from a different payment system.

*WARNING* DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Seek another processing service. They will hold your funds and want $30,000 processed and HELD prior to releasing any of your money. Also hidden charges and monthly fees will be assessed. Very shady business practices.

Forte is a big company, expect some breakdown in communication if problems occur. When I was given the ability to speak to a department manager Franny, she was extremely helpful, apologized profusely about the situation and took care of the problem on the spot. That was a great experience. I think they are a good company, but need to get better organized in lower level positions. My honest take on the matter.
