Client Review on Omni Community Credit Union

So I’ve been going to Omni for only one reason for years now and it’s because it’s on the way home. And then today they finally became crummy enough to get rid of. I just got a new job and I deposited a check in the ATM on a Saturday. It’s pretty crazy that you can just put the check in and it reads what you are depositing. I’ve seen similar tech with chase bank where my a friend used to just take pictures of his checks in an app instead of actually taking them to the bank. So I deposited a check for just under 500$. This is not a lot of money. This is a very very small amount of money. People can spend this easily in a day on a variety of things depending on lifestyles. Half groceries, half car repair.Anyway. I’ve deposited a space age check into a space age reader. I have done this successfully many times before and experienced little issue. Money ready on Monday morning at the latest.Imagine my disappointment to find a hold on it until Wednesday for more than half of the check. I called, confused, and a person told me that they would call me back with an answer and then no one called me back.So I call again today and it’s still not available, because it’s a “very large check”. It’s a check from a corporation guys? I had a job before working for another corporation that deposited directly checks of the same size? I’m really confused about how it’s so big. And why it’s taking people a full 2 days to trust me with my own money? For example if I went in physically and cashed it on Monday I would be holding onto the whole 500$ in cash no problem, but because I was driving home after work and decided to use a device that is designed to MAKE MY LIFE MORE CONVENIENT instead of waiting until Monday, I’m out all my money.I’m excited to get a new credit union because the one that I used to have in Oregon was far superior and I’m sure there’s a better local option that I have not explored.-5/5 stars ✨ Omni sorry you couldn’t take my girthy checks 💁 ‍♂️
