In my experience, this is an unprofessional and sleazy law practice. I don't place much trust in attorneys who can't string together coherent sentences or get their facts correct. They're also willing to delve into portions of the law in which they do not appear to have competency, embarrassing their clients. Finally, they are willing to misstate facts and make baseless accusations in their wretched correspondence simply to try to intimidate innocent people. For example, in their letter to me threatening a frivolous lawsuit, they even threw in a false charge of racism, hoping it would scare me into doing what their client wanted.
