About - National Processing
Wayne Hamilton, Founder & CEO
Wayne Hamilton, CEO
806 North 2800 | Lindon, Utah, 84042 National Processing is a merchant account provider headquartered in Lindon, Utah.
The company, established in 2007, is rather small compared to other leading names in the payments industry but punches well above its weight in terms of pricing and service. In fact, its one of our favorite merchant services providers for small and medium-sized businesses. Important note:
Please do not confuse National Processing with the similarly named National Processing Company (NPC). National Processing is the polar opposite of NPC. NPC has a terrible reputation and several significant issues with its service.
We would never recommend NPC as a merchant account provider. If you see negative experiences regarding the National Processing Company, please note that this is a completely different organization and has no affiliation at all with the National Processing were reviewing here. Two very different companies!
Also, note that this review is for businesses thinking about using National Processing. While we are not assessing National Processing from a sales agent perspective, we do have a good opinion about the company overall, so you can take that for what its worth. Okay, so now on to what we like about National Processing.
The first thing I noticed about this company was its extensive discussion and disclosure of fees and rates front and center in its marketing materials. It provides accurate examples of real interchange rates alongside standardized markups and fees. This is ideal, and its incredibly rare to find.
Finding a company with interchange-plus pricing is, in itself, a nice treat. But to find a meaningful explanation of actual interchange rates and a complete list of standard account fees — thats as good as it gets.
And the fact that National Processing donates 10% of its profit to charity is a nice touch. My one noteworthy issue with National Processing is its early termination policy. While I consider the policy fair and have not seen complaints about it, I always prefer to see services with no early termination fee whatsoever.
With National Processing, you will not pay an early termination fee if you close your business or sell it. You will also have the fee waived if you get a better quote elsewhere than National Processing can give you. The idea here is that it requires you to allow National Processing to match any quote you receive elsewhere, which seems fair to me.
Note that if you do not need free equipment, you should be able to get a month-to-month account with no early termination fee. Again, I prefer to see no early termination fee at all, but I also understand that this policy allows National Processing to provide the lowest standard rates possible and provide setup benefits to companies that need them. Note that the free terminal offer is only available to merchants operating in the United States.
National Processing also serves Canadian merchants, but you wont be able to get a free terminal with your account. Overall, National Processing rates an excellent 5 out of 5 stars. The company offers high-quality service with extremely competitive rates and fees.
I confidently recommend the company for any small business looking to get the absolute lowest rates. The standard account doesnt come with a lot of bells and whistles, but it does its job and does it well. I recommend that you give National Processing a try.

Overall Feedback:
After much research I chose this company for card processing for my new startup because of their high customer service ratings. I have not been disappointed. In fact I've been very impressed. A small issue came up soon after opening my account and it was dealt with quickly and generously. Glad I chose National Processing.
