Client Review on Merchant Cooperative

Feedback:

They charged my client a $250 cancellation fee after we ended our relationship of 4 years with them. The contract that was in place from the get-go was a 3 year term, and automatically renewed after a year for a year. The client sent the cancellation letter on the anniversary of the renewal date, however Merchant Coop are now claiming that they cancelled the account themselves based on a returned monthly service charge (we changed bank accounts a few weeks prior), and are assessing the client a $250 cancellation fee. Furthermore, they transferred the client to a collector just a few weeks after contacting us, the collector proceeded to harass the client and send letters directly to owners. When I attempted to resolve the issue with Merchant Coop with respect to the facts of the situation, I was treated rudely and told that I have to talk to the collector.
