I'm currently in my home after working with MDE obtaining my mortgage, they made the process quick and stress free. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family. Working with James, Sarah, Jose, Danielle through this mortgage process was a great experience. I look forward in working with them again. Thank you all at MDE mortgage.

While home buying is stressful, it is also supposed to be exciting and enjoyable. And up until 6 days prior to my closing, it was. But MDE home loans found a way to turn my excitement into panic and unhappiness. I was introduced to MDE home loans while buying a new construction home from Toll Brothers. Everything seemed smooth, with plenty of open communication and no hidden agendas. I was set to close on January 25th. By this time, I had been given several closing costs estimates sheets which itemized everything my VA home loan included. On January 18th at 8 pm, I was sent a final email of locked in rates and final closing costs. At this time, an additional fee had been added that had never been talked about or disclosed in the weeks of working with MDE, and it had never been on ANY of the two previous closing cost worksheets. It amounted to 1% ($3,600) of the purchase price of my home. MDE promptly took position as to that this was due to how my VA home loan was filed. When asked why it came up last minute. I got the run around. After doing extensive research, I found out that it has NOTHING to do with how my VA home loan is filed, rather it is the lender’s flat charge that is intended to cover all of the lender’s costs and services which are not reimbursable as “itemized fees and charges.” While I have nothing against an American company making money, I have a huge problem with being blindsided by it, days before closing. So close to closing in fact, that if I were to delay or cancel, I would be taken to court by Toll Brothers for $35,000 because I didn’t close on the home 10 days after signing the official contract. MDE had me at their mercy and there is nothing I could do about it. While I have no grounds to challenge the legality of their actions, I can however shine a bright light on their poor business ethics and lack of morals. Please, do not think for a second that just because you are using a VA home loan, that you are going to be treated any differently. I urge any of my fellow military veterans to NOT get in bed with this company. Mortgage companies are not doing you a favor! You are the consumer, making the largest purchase of your life. You are using a mortgage companies service, to where they are making money as well. You have every right to be fully informed as to what is going on. Absolutely no one should mislead you the way the team at MDE mortgages misled me. Please learn from my terrible experience, and go elsewhere for your mortgage needs. After explaining my distain and infuriation with the owner of MDE, and telling him that I was taking my frustration to the internet, he quickly removed the additional fee. (Funny how that works) He was not happy about it at all, but nonetheless, he removed it. I thought long and hard about still posting this. I decided to do so on the basis that they will do this again to someone else. And regardless if I fought it enough to not pay the fee, I’d bet a paycheck that they have done it before and will continue to try to do it again and again.
