Feedback:

Extremely unprofessional

Feedback:

Took a Rolex here today to get it appraised. The gentleman there was quick to ask me what I was looking to get for the watch. I indicated to him I was not interested in selling the item as it was left to me by an uncle. When I told him I was just looking to have it appraised and find out the items worth, he took another quick look and told me it was a fake and he was not interested. I knew my uncle would never buy a fake so I left and did some research…come to find out it was not just a real Rolex with serial number and security micro engraving, it was also worth about $8000. Glad I didn’t trust these people. Avoid this business!

This review is for Jewelers and Loan Company located at 509 Beale Street in Quincy. I have to start by saying I am very confused and disappointed in Steve's recent behavior. I have always used this shop for my watch repairs, jewelry repairs. I recently bought my fiance a divers watch from Steve. He in turn bought me a white gold and diamond promise ring that I brought into this shop for an appraisal. Sean, the owner knows all of these statements to be true. He knows me well. My fiance has a precious metals collection. He has close to 300 ounces of silver, 10 ounces of Ruthenium, 5 ounces of Iridium, some Indium and Rhenium. He has been looking to invest in Platinum as its spot price is currently very low. Lowest in along time. He has been deterred with making an online purchase as Precious Metals Dealers online are looking for ounce prices at about $100 above spot. He likes to buy bullion and ingots. He has however been looking at coins or rounds. During one of our conversations I mentioned my Jewelry Company as I know Sean has coins for sale. I told my fiance to go bye and take a look. I gave him the address. He did just that. Upon entering he was told he never buys anything when he comes in (despite the fact that he had never been there before) . As he made his way to the display case with the coins he was further told that for every 3 times he goes in, he leaves without buying anything. At this point he was confused as to what was going on and tried explaining to Sean that he had never been in this shop. Before he could finish his statements he was rudely told that he was wasting Seans time and was asked to leave. My fiance owns a healthy six figure small business that has been around for over 20 years. He is a 3.8 gpa graduate of Umass Amherst. I am so confused as to why he was treated the way he was treated and am especially disappointed because I was the one who told him to go there. In not so many words, when you disrespected him... you disrespected me... someone who has put money in your pocket for a long time. My name is Shana Cobban and you don't need to tell ME, as you told him, that you never want me coming into your shop again because I can assure you that I will NEVER go anywhere close to this shop again. Rather than taking responsibility for your actions when you was faced with his review you tried to make it look like he had a pressing issue to visit your shop. This is Nonsense. In your response to his review you mentioned "bad behavior" yet you could not explain what that behavior was? Combining all this information, I cannot help but believe that his explanation of what really happened was true. In life accountability is paramount. What is even worse than NO accountability is trying to lie your way out of it. This entire scenario truly hurts me. What I do know is that neither me nor my fiance will ever go anywhere near this place. Sean, take his advice... if you are in no condition to conduct business... keep your doors closed. If you have a substance abuse issue, get help. Your a grown man, grow up.

I just went to the store for the first time. I got a decent price for my stuff, upon minor negotiations. So, I am very happy with the experience. Of course, you also need to know the value of your jewelry. I had been to one more store before this, and I had an idea. Overall, I saw an expert reasonable and open to negotiations with appreciation for good jewelery:)

Feedback:

Very nice to deal with and very fair. Def will do buisness again. He want inventory and also works with people. Yes he has to make money as well just like any buisness. Went with a friend and we all chatted and made a deal. Blew out a coin star in weymouth. He wants buisness and wants to help just like everyone. He has to make money you want to make money very easy to deal with. Also great location

Feedback:

this is what I would describe them as. Used to be good but now they're all bad. They low your stuff and then you so they don't have to pay you back. If there was a zero star I would give rate it as that, even a one star is too much. If you guys want to run a business do it right or go home.

Feedback:

I went to the store for the first time recently while in the store I was asked how did I find the store? Which was stupid in my opinion to ask because buyers notice local businesses but I told the man yelp. While in the store he had another customer outside waiting for a while which was not good for business.I do not believe because its a small shop he didnt let him in some thing odd was going on there.Until my items were in testing he started allowing people to come into the shop I showed him what I was offering but he was rude and unprofessional about the offer. He took my items and didnt want to give me the worth value of the jewlery but wanted to give me less. He had told me one of my items were "trash" and bent it while testing which was unnecessary in fact it was real the man just didn't know what he was talking about. He wanted to sell my items for more he asked his brother to do testing and afterwards he didnt tell me about the items karats etc. He just started filling out paper work without asking what's my final decision but in a actual professional setting they explain to you all of what your item is worth and what is the market price which wasn't explained here. I had changed my mind on selling my items to this man when I said no he told me loud for everyone to hear," if I came in next time he wont buy from me". Do not waste your time coming to this store the man was very rude since the time I entered the store. As a first time customer I don't recommend it because he was trying to scam me out of my jewelry. I went to an actual jewelry store and found out it was worth much more than he was offering.

Brought in some 22karat gold bangles. My husband and I needed funds for our gas business and household expenses. Convenient and fast for us.

Feedback:

Pleasant gentleman. Downsizing and cleaned out my home and was happy with items I redeemed.

Feedback:

Sold some scrap jewelry sitting around the house and got a fair price. Nice and neat spot.
