L&N Federal Credit Union was established in 1954.

Originally, the credit union was established to serve the workers of the L&N Railroad in Louisville Kentucky. In 1982, the credit union converted to a Multi-Group Charter and went on to serve various businesses throughout Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and Tennessee including: CSX, Churchill Downs, Kentucky Lottery, Baptist Hospital East, Audubon Hospital, Jim Beam Brands, Van Melle, Laurel Cookie Company, and hundreds more. In 2004, the credit union changed to a Community Charter.
