I have been with LACU for 23 years and they have treated our entire family like family. They take time to understand your situation and how they can help. Just a great CU that doesn’t treat you like a # like the big banks

They used to be a nice friendly bank until they started hiring up tight, rude tellers. Definitely switching to a different bank that will actually realizes without US there wouldn’t be a YOU!

We want to thank Marie for diligently tracking a lost wire sent by a customer of ours. Everyone at Linn Area is super nice and very helpful. They have taken the time to help us through several issues we've had. An amazing place to bank - you'll be happy! I wish we had worked with them sooner.

They claim everyone is family, it's part of their slogan, but I guess I must be the black sheep. My credit score is low, I will admit that. So I cannot get a credit card or loan, that is fine and understandable. However what is not fine is the fact of having your card declined in the middle of purchasing groceries much to one's own embarrassment. What is not fine is multiple explanations of why it got declined, but the answer explained by management is my debit card has a limit of $100. Yes, this is not a typo. When I questioned this, I was told it was due to my credit score. That is right, I am being limited to spending my own money. I cannot use the mobile check deposit feature because of this either, however I can drive (which costs money) to a branch and do it there. This has to be the most ridiculous restrictions I have ever heard of. The original answer to why my card was declined is because of a 7 day hold on a 164 dollar check. I was told "we might not be able to collect on this check". The check came from a business! I opened an account here because I wanted something local. However my old bank had a debit card purchase limit of $3,000 and never put a hold on a check longer than 1 business day. These people will not treat you fairly if you have a low credit score. In fact I was told they did me a favor, because normally they would not of opened an account for me! Do yourselves a favor and bank elsewhere.

I am done with Linn area. I live out of town now but was with Linn area when I was younger and still kept my car loan through them. first they were a good credit union, I have(soon to be had) my car loan with them, but they pulled out my payment twice and a day early. Causing me multiple overdraft fees, not to mention anxiety and stress. When I tried to get this corrected I was told I would get my money back the next day, but 4 days later it still didn't appear so I had to call them and was told it was put in my Linn area savings account. I talked to multiple people about this issue and no one seemed like it was a good idea to mention that it would be refunded to that savings account. Since I live 45+ minutes away this place has now cost me time, money, gas, stress, anxiety and good standing with my own bank. So thanks Linn area, get better.

I been waiting for 30 minutes to contact one of you guys and I remember I didnt have to wait this long for you guys to answer. My Debit card doesnt work and Im trying to contact you guys and lools like I'll have to drive to the bank.

My parents set up a savings account for me at LACU when I was 3. I've had checking accounts, savings accounts, personal loans, auto loans, and home loans through LACU and have never been disappointed. Yes, there are days where employees are less than smiley, but those days are infrequent. I feel like I can trust anyone that I come in contact with at LACU as I feel they have my best interest in mind. Huge shout out to JoAnn for always coming through with our special needs! Nick Mundorf was great to work with for our home loan. My husband and I will continue to bank with LACU for many years to come.
