I recently refinanced my mortgage with Lincoln Federal Savings Bank and can honestly say I have never received such poor customer service. Outside of getting pre-approved, every single step of the process was met with multiple errors. And each error required repeated calls and complaints to get fixed.They closed a week late, due to needing a multitude of forms and documentation from me, even though I had submitted all forms and documentation they requested over three weeks prior to closing. Over a month after closing I was asked for more documentation needed for my loan “to be approved and funded by the investor”. I then received a welcome packet from Freedom Mortgage, who I was told, had purchased my loan from Lincoln Federal Savings bank. When I called to confirm, LFSB told me they in fact were unable to sell the loan off, as they had drafted the closing documents for 3.375% instead of the rate-locked rate of 3.75%. Sounds like a good deal for me, but it took over a week of daily calls to both Lincoln Federal AND Freedom Mortgage to get a definitive answer as to who actually had my loan, as no one apparently knew conclusively. Turns out it was Lincoln Federal Savings Bank. I then asked them how to set up my online account for making payments only to find out LFSB DOES NOT HAVE ONLINE SERVICING CAPABILITIES. So, not only can I not log on to make my payments, I can’t log on to even see my current account status or activity. They also DO NOT offer paperless statements via email, or even ACTUAL PAPER STATEMENTS. After calling to ask how I was supposed to obtain statements for my mortgage, I was told the only way to do so, would be to call them every month and manually request one be sent. This is absolutely appalling to me in today’s technologically advanced business world.Further, I had to send in a check for the first month’s payment, along with an auto-draft consent form so I wouldn’t have to send in a check manually each month as well. I was told the check would cover the first payment, and the auto draft would start the following month. After a week, the check for the first month still had not cleared. I called to ask why this was the case and found out they had simply forgotten to cash it as it had been left on someone’s desk. The next day I checked my bank account and found I was over drafted. I logged on to see why, as I had sufficient funds to cover the check and found out that Lincoln Federal Savings Bank had not only cashed the check for the first month, but also processed the auto-draft that day as well, instead of it starting on the second month as a I was told would be the case, so a double payment had been taken out of my account. After calling and getting all of this sorted out, I was rightfully restored the second payment, but even that required several calls to ensure it was handled timely and correctly.The amount of time I have had to waste on the phone micro-managing this whole process, as well as the number and severity of errors made during every single step of the process are beyond egregious – they are absolutely abhorrent. The level of effort it will take to acquire monthly statements going forward – something that is so effortless and automated with ANY other business in today’s economy – isn’t even laughable, it is beyond sad. At this point, I’ll be surprised if the statement I have to manually request monthly, doesn’t arrive carved into a stone tablet.I would give them 0 stars if it were allowed, but you can't post your review without giving at least 1 star. I strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere. Lincoln Federal Savings Bank should be avoided at all costs.
