Feedback:

I don't normally write bad reviews for businesses. It's not my nature. I believe that we all make mistakes. So I tend to forgive. I came on here, after I was adviced to do so. I hope I can help someone. Michael Lee walked into my business and sold me on switching merchant services because he explained that Wells Fargo uses a third party and that Eschelon does not therefor my rates would be lower. I was sold. He told me that he would be taking care of everything with my Wells Fargo account. I didn't have to do anything, he would take care of it. A few months passed and I looked very closely at my bill and noticed that I was still paying for my Wells Fargo Merchant. I called Michael several times and and he never replied until I urgently asked him to please refer me to someone else if he was no longer with the company. He did message me that he was sorry but that his fiancé had passed away and that he would call me within a week of course, that's awful news, so I gave him his time. Two weeks went by and he never called back after three weeks I decided to call Eschelon myself. I spoke with Ray and he told me that they did try to get a cancellation letter to me, but that I hung up on the representative. Which I did because I thought he was a telemarketer and trust me they call my business all the time and it's a bit frustrating because they're very aggressive. I apologized and laughed at myself. Ray did sent me the letter out again and we took care of it. I woke up this morning to find out that I'm still paying for my Wells Fargo merchant. I called Ray and he told me to give them a call directly because they must've gotten my letter and thrown it away and that there was a possibility that they will not cancel my services with them. I told him that that's not what Michael said to me. Michael Lee told me that he would take care of everything for me. Ray told me that he wasn't there to listen to the conversation. I was upset that now I have to deal with Wells Fargo myself, when that's not what I was told by Michael. Even Ray told me that there was a possibility that wells fargo would not cancel my contract because, he asked me, "would you help another business take your client?". I told him that what they are doing was unethical. That it's wrong. I told Ray that I wanted to cancel my services with them. He said no, because I signed a contract. Yup, same thing Wells Fargo is going to say to me. So, this is a very painful lesson for me. And it is one you don't have to experience. Today I learned the term baite and switch. I wish that the conversation that I had with Ray this morning, where he educated me on the possibility that Wells Fargo would not cancel my services with them would have taken place the day Michael talked to me. But instead, he smiled at me, and he told me "I'll be taking care of everything for you, you don't have to do a thing". I called The Better Business Bureau, and they agreed, completely unethical. I was going back-and-forth debating whether to write a bad review. I decided not to because I already see that there are 14 bad reviews and maybe 4 good ones. So what does that say about Eschelon? Like my old boss once told me, the fish rots from the head down. I would rather believe that Michael was not properly trained. Make your own decision on wether to use Eschelon or not, I hope your experience is a good one.
