Feedback:

I visited Eden Jewelry & Loan because I had 3 pieces of 10-karat jewelry with stones I wanted to sell. I had sold many pieces of gold jewelry at Goodfellas, with credible explanations of why they had offered what they offered. I felt Goodfellas had always been fair or more than fair. For these 10-carat pieces containing more gems than gold, though, I thought I would do better at a jewelry store or a pawnshop.Allen was the person I spoke to. He offered to help me, then ignored me for a few minutes while he spoke to another staffer about another loan going on at the counter next to me. I got his sporadic attention while similar interruptions went on throughout our conversation. He treated me as though I was stupid, and made me a lowball offer of $150 to buy all 3 pieces. I declined to sell the pieces and started talking about some sports memorabilia my husband has, including some autographed hockey jerseys Wayne Gretsky had given my husband. Allen went to a site for sports memorabilia on his computer, and similar Gretsky jerseys were listed for $1100. He then told me that prices on the internet were inflated. He then asked me if I knew what the word "inflated" meant. That is when I left the store.I then went to Golden Jewelry in Castro Valley. Jorge Cortez waited on me promptly, used some electronic evaluation devices, and offered me $280 for the three pieces. I happily sold the jewelry to them, since it was nearly double what rude Allen had offered. At no time did Golden Jewelry treat me as stupid, walk off to talk to another customer right as I was in the middle of a sentence, or ask me if I knew what a common word meant.Who needs Allen, his rudeness, or his unscientific lowball offers? If you want to be treated like an idiot, Allen's your man. Otherwise, go to Golden Jewelry in Castro Valley.

Feedback:

I had a wonderful experience here at Eden Jewelry and Loan. Everyone was very professional and courteous. The building is in a wonderful location and the inside was clean and neat beyond what I've ever seen. It smelled wonderful upon walking in, might I add. I must say, as a new member of the area this will be my go to location for all of my jewelry needs and I also collect coins, they have a awesome selection of coins for me to add to my collection. This is how business should be fair and honest. I would recommend this business to everyone!
