Out of all the many banks I've gotten services from anywhere this one wins hands down. You can walk in just being your self an get treated right. They solve problems immediately an the app is perfect. No predatory fees an say on a loan for example they will intelligently work with you on any bumps in the road. I ain't ever goin NOWHERE! 😁

Feedback:

The transition to harbor pointe has been a nightmare nobody seems to have any answers to all the problems they are having. Completely fed up

Minor edit: DTCU has become 'HPCU' - I left this bank before this change, and can't speak to the quality of the 'new' bank. If it's simply a rebranding with no real change, then this place is still 1/5 stars. They'll need to reply directly and outline any changes they've made. Until then I'll assume they're still awful. Long story short: DTCU inhibits your ability to spend money, their staff are often rude, and their policies are overzealous. If you want inconvenience, DTCU is your bank. ----I initially went with DTCU because my Grandparents were long standing members. They setup an account for me in their name while I was a child and poured some savings in for my college education; which is something I've aimed to do with my children. Despite this, I can no longer bank with DTCU.Here are a few examples of why.. Surprisingly I'm leaving a lot of stuff out. While applying for a mortgage I was given unfair rates and a relatively low credit amount, despite having great credit, and several fully paid loans with the bank. Other banks gave me good rates and a significantly higher limit. I went with a different provider.Going out of state/country on vacations, having all of my purchases declined despite calling them and telling them in advance. Getting my card activated again took 3 days in one instance, leaving me stranded without a rental car and all of my luggage.. Randomly having my debit card cancelled without being contacted, thus causing all of my existing automatic bill payments to fail.. Utilities, mortgage, student loans, etc..Despite all of my gripes, the biggest issue comes from attempting to spend my money. While security is a high priority, I feel stifled while trying to make non-stanard purchases. There have been numerous instances where I try to buy something, only to be told I can't and that I need to wait for a managers approval. The few times that I was able to make these purchases, my card is always declined several times before actually going through because of the staff taking hours to remove any restrictions. This is not only embarrassing, but really inconvenient for presumably all parties.. The most recent instance of this is what finally went too far for me..I'm currently remodeling my kitchen, coincidentally I just had a new son who was born at 28 weeks (he's doing great), and although he's still in the hospital, he will be coming home any day now. The only reason I planned this kitchen remodel was because I expected to have it finished long before his due date. Most of the framework/rebuild is done, but I'm at a point right now where it's absolutely imperative that I get the cabinets/appliances ordered so we actually have a functioning kitchen before the baby comes home. We've already been put off for over a week because of DTCU restrictions, the cabinets take 2 weeks to ship, so now our newborn will likely come home and be exposed to construction noises.. Edit: the baby came home the same day my cabinets arrived... A literal worst case scenario that would have been avoided if DTCU didn't stop me from buying them when I told them I wanted to. The worst part about this instance is that I knew about the spending restrictions, so I call into DTCU to get the limit temporarily removed a day in advance. It was still declined, and I was told I couldn't make the purchase over the weekend, and to call back on Monday. On Monday they raised my limit, but they were only raising the limit to the exact amount and promptly putting my account on a 24 hour hold afterwards.. I went to buy the cabinets, and the purchase was STILL declined. In the end, I couldn't buy them using my debit card, and I needed to go to the bank and pull $4000 in cash, which took, two trips/days, because they told me I could only withdraw $2,500 at a time. This actually cost me several hundred dollars in rebate savings because the sale ended.

COMPLAINT: Hello,I have been a consistent customer since 2012. I have never had a worse experience from this bank than this year. I need to let you know of several problems presently taking place with your service. I have endured multiple issues regarding HPCU's service. Your staff have been short with me and unwilling to hear my points of criticism and I feel completely out-casted as a long time customer and supporter of this bank. 1. My debit card is constantly bombarded with false flag fraud claims and my card gets locked up way too frequently. This has occurred almost every single time money is deposited into my account. Your reasons for locking my card are frivolous at best. I have been barred from additional purchases because of payments to local shops such as Subway, Savers, Local convenience stores, and previously approved scheduled bills on my account. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. 2. Your audio teller does not work. 3. Your quick check feature does not work. 4. The online login for my online banking account stops working frequently which bars me from checking my balance. 5. Using my debit card has become an anxiety inducing roll of the dice. I have no idea whether it will actually go through at the places I check out.6. The two day waiting period for cashing checks is the most inconvenient policy I've ever experienced. Why should customers who have used this bank be forced to have their money delayed? Is there no trust in your customers? 7. The minimum balance fee on customer accounts is discriminatory. Because I do not have at least $50 in my account I was charged a fee for cashing a check. This is insult to injury and a blatant attack on people with low income. Please abolish this hateful policy immediately. Please improve your services and customer support. Your performance this year as a company has been drastically below average. 1/10. Bad service, Horrible customer support, multiple unnecessary fees and Broken fraud detection system (Flags local purchases).
