The CT cash office is open Monday-Wednesday 8am-6pm Thursday & Friday 8am-6:30pm and Saturday 8am-4pm and closed on Sundays. New Britain Avenue Hartford CT cash office is open Sundays from 9am-3pm.

I've been going here off and on for five years, not a single problem. Clerks are professional and efficient. Often, there's no line, not long to wait. (One small rule to keep in mind: They weren't allowed to cash a check made out to "Cash." The check needs a name on the payee line. Other than that, it's smooth sailing!)
