Client Review on Capital Premium Financing

Feels like we are dealing with a loan shark. Yes, they finance your insurance, which I blame my "Previous" agent for utilizing, when he came back with a quote on a Commercial Liability business policy. This type policy is usually high, and we expected that, but had NO idea it was being brokered through a third party, (Capital) as a financed note, on the secondary market! Even other person's who are in the insurance industry that we have consulted, have never heard of a reputable businesss conducting themselves, so poorly. After only 2 months with this company, we canceled the insurance policy and went with a primary market provider, for HALF the cost, with NO finance charges. It was canceled approx 20 days prior to is next due date, but they are holding the account OPEN, still accruing interest charges, late fees, and any other fee they can find. When inquiring for a month now, where is our refund from the sizable down payment that was made, they say that because the account is still in an open status, and they haven't received payment from the intermediary company, that they will not process it and will continue to assess fees, that are in no terms, refundable!!! Even though they show and confirm that this policy has a canceled request made a month ago, prior to the next due date. They say it is "Just the way it is" that this can take 30 to 60 days to process the paperwork, all the while interest, fees, etc are still accruing! BUT!. WAIT!, there is one option....go ahead and pay my premiums, until it is processed. That is the ONLY way to not have any more fees, etc assessed!! And I should just keep doing this, and then they will refund that money also!! Who does this? If I can't get the money that is owed now, why would I pay into them for maybe 2 more months, in the hopes that they will do the right thing??? My agent apologizes, and says he has NEVER heard of anything like this...The company that was the intermediary broker, apologizes also, saying they have never heard of anything like this! Fyi, they are the one that has refunded the amount to Capital, yet Capital still conveniently says they don't have it. So now we are tracing down a digital copy of the check to prove it... Please, Please, do not be unaware of this company and their unscrupulous practices. Go to their website and read the message from the President, David F. Gabrielsen, and his letter of March 30,2017 where he talks about his dad's lessons: under lesson 1, he mentions that Capital is a multi-million dollar business. With 80 employees, and over 4000 agencies. I can't imagine that this is just business as usual, but if so, then be waiting for a Civil Lawsuit postcard coming in your mailbox, for the day they finally get caught carrying out the underhanded methods of extortion, while they hold on to your money, tell you the only way to get what is owed you, is to pay MORE.
