I love living at Berkshire. The apartments are updated and quite nice. In contrast to previous reviews the hallways do not smell and the office team is helpful and courteous. The community feel here is awesome; with the grill, pool space and gym - it's a great place to live!

Nice place and safe for my girlfriend and I, but yea freight elevator is rough to get parking garage not much can be done with that maybe, building is already built. Management is also very good and janitorial staff as well.

My wife and I have been living here for over a year. We cannot understand the many unfavorable reviews. In our opinions they are unfair and not accurate. First the matter of cleanliness. We have lived in many different apartments over the years and this is easily the cleanest we have ever seen. The floors in the wonderfully complete gym are spotless! There is absolutely no “gym” odor. We use it daily. The comment about odor in the halls is rediculous. The hall carpets are vacuumed daily. We have seen no urine stains from dogs as was claimed by one writer. The service has been excellent, very responsive. Although the service elevator was down for a while when we first moved in, that was owing to damage from the hurricane. Since then it has been fine. There are two other elevators in any case. The apartments are incredible, large walk-in closets, granite countertops, new appliances, and ample cupboard room. Although there are quite a few dogs and we are not dog people, we have had no problems and we have noticed no excess noise or unpleasant animal odors. The sound proofing is wonderful. The pool, grilling, and party area are right next to our patio cabana area, but with the door to the apartment closed, we are undisturbed. The location is perfect. Grocery stores, a bank and two major pharmacies are in easy walking distance. Several great eating places are within a three block radius. Have never had trouble parking. Rents are very reasonable. I think the unfavorable reviews have been written by people who may have been evicted or who are very unrealistic about apartment living. John and Sidnee Fortier, formerly of Madison, Wisconsin. I have been living here for 3 years. The building has decent location, and the maintenance staff is very friendly, those are pretty much the only positive about living in this community. First off, the management office is TERRIBLE. There is so much turnover in this office, but the replacements are always horrendous. They provide no customer service, don’t host any events for residents, and provide no updates when things on the property are broken. After the most recent hurricane is took 3 months to get the elevators working properly. People have had their cars broken into, and have been held at gunpoint. The ONLY reason I stayed at this building for as long as I did was because it was so close to my office, other than that there are virtually no benefits living here. I can’t wait to move out and never have to deal with the terrible management office again!

After 1,5 years I came again to this wonderful brand new building in Fort Lauderdale asking for a personal reference, since I lived here in 2015 and 2016, I was surprised to find out amazing staff people as always, the property manager and her assistant, better is impossible the attention I received from them. I could also see that this building is on top to live in the area, its amenities, quality of people, location 200 yards from US1. Therefore, I recommend without any doubt this building and its staff to anyone who is looking quality and a nice place to live. I have been living in this property for more than 2 years and the truth is that everything is in total deterioration. The hallway smells horrible, the carpets have spots of dog urine everywhere. Call boxes don't work. Not a single update in the gym or pool. The pool heater doesn't work either. Months ago the management said they were going to paint the walls of the corridors and that they were going to hire a company to clean the windows, none of this has been fulfilled. They don't do events for residents like in most condos. They eliminated the water, juices and cookies that used to be available for residents. The building is so deteriorated that it seems older than it really is. It's a shame, they're going to lose the residents if they don't do something to improve. What saves this building is the perfect location and the excellent assistance of Doris and Jesus!

I’ve been living here over a year and lately this place is always dirty and the hallways and elevators smell terrible. I guess it’s because of all the pets. I’ve lived in many other places that allow pets but none of them have smelled so terrible as Berkshire does I literally have to put my shirt over my face so I can breathe. Definitely won’t be renewing my lease unless things get better.

Why won't they fix the stupid elevator? It has been out of service for over a month since the hurricane.
