Greetings - In 07/022019 a loan officer from Access Bank, Sumo Karwoi, misrepresented several rental properties in the Monrovia area indicating he was the agent for the owner’s of said properties. He charges $30.00 to provide the locations of properties he lists in a local Buy & Sell forum on Facebook. His listings do not mention his $30.00 fee so upon first contact online he advised his $30.00 fee and we politely declined his services. He was rude and said he’d see us return for his services as there’s no other way to obtain an apartment in Monrovia.A few days later while driving in a community we noticed a sign indicating a vacancy so we stopped and spoke to gentleman in the compound who provided the name and number of the owner. We contacted her and she advised her one bedroom was rented but she still had a two bedroom. Later when looking online in the various online Buy & Sell forums I noticed the same apartment I had cane across days earlier in person. I posted nicely that the apartment was already rented but the owner still had a two bedroom vacant. Sumo Karwoi then posted I was a joker and stated I was posting lies as the apartment was available. I replied back with the owner’s contact number so apartment seekers could verify the legitimacy of the posting.Sumo Korwoi then started staring we did not know who we were dealing with and that we would not find an apartment without paying for his services. His posts attacked one of my partners where Sumo Karwoi claimed his level of intelligence was far above anyone elses.Access Bank Loan Officer Sumo Karwoi then went in to state to one of the partners that he had viewed his profile and that being that the partner was married to an American he should know that he would be paying the fee for an apartment or not get one. Sumo Karwoi then went on to make a blanket negative remark about Liberians stating “Liberians have to gravitate away from getting things for free and appreciate innovation.” Sumo Karwoi’s personal attack in a public forum was uncalled for and represents Access Bank in a bad light.
