Client Review on The Auto Merchants
Feedback:
Unfortunatly I bought a 93 lexus from them not to long ago at one of thier thieving credit unions (American One) car sales in the sears parking lot of course as I arrived "just to look" at the cars one of their pushy salesman ryan wolf came right over to me as I have delt with him in the past at the other dealership he worked at before they canned him my last car was great but that was because it was from a different dealer anyway he brought me to a 93 lexus that he said was "very well taken care of" and "the most reliable car on the lot" and many other things to get me pumped up over the car I took it for a test drive for the hell of it and it seemed nice came back and said I would think about it he come back I will make you a good deal so I left for a while came back and he says are you ready to buy the car I said I was unsure and he said comeon I didnt steer you wrong on your last car did I? I said no but I'm still not sure he said let me make you a deal and grabbed a price tag from the back seat he said the car was on the lot for 8000 but I will give it to you for 5900 I being a stupid 18 yr old said what a deal said yes he made the mistake of putting that price tag in the trunk as I later found out that the price was for a totally different vehicle a buick as I recall so he gave me no special deal LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE the car overheated so I went back to the dealer they told me the vehicle was as is and there was nothing they could do so they sent me to their Mechanic Autotech of jackson boy was that a joke told them to check out my car they call me the next day and tell me there was a leek in the heater core and they fixed it (without my consent mind you) so I go to pick up the car and they say its 137 dollars so I paid them and left less than 2 miles away the car overheats again back to autotech I go and told them I wanted my money back they complied but told me that the bill would have to be paid I said talk to auto merchants about it and left with my still broken car I took it home and inspected their "work" no fixing had been done to the heater core at all what did 137 dollars get me two 25 cent hose clamps thats all they did for 137 dollars boy am I glad I got my money back about a month later I get a paid in full in the mail from autotech seems automerchants paid the bill now why would they pay the bill if they belived that they did nothing wrong? because they knew they did wrong by selling me a lemon! I took the car to an independent radiator shop that told me it had a cracked head and asked who had replaced the water pump and radiator not me seems auto merchants knew about the problem and tried to mask it also found in the coolant bars stop leak a temporary fix for a cracked head to clarify the story more I had gotten a hold of the original owner before me and they said they got rid of the car because of a overheating problem proof that Auto Merchants knew of the problem and hid it! well sorry this review is so long but I would hate for another person to fall victim to this sad excuse for a dealership!
